The objective of this course is to impart skills to students to covers the current expectation and requirements of automotive manufacturing industry. Adequate care has been taken to ensure the student gains basic knowledge about engineering and also improves upon her life skills. This an excellent course for existing & aspiring professionals in the auto industry to get an hands on job experience while also pursuing the bachelors degree education. This is an AICTE and UGC approved course and the degree would be awarded by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (Deemed University). This degree is equivalent to any other bachelors degree granted by the University Grants Commission (UGC)
Eligibility:The eligibility condition for admission to B.Voc. Program in Automotive Manufacturing Technology shall be 10+2 or equivalent (ie 10 + 2years ITI diploma).
Course Structure:The Vocational course is a three year program which consists of a combination of Practical, Theory and general education courses. This three year program will be divided into 6 semesters; 2 semesters per year. 1st year will be a Diploma, 2nd year will be Advance Diploma & 3rd year will be a Degree. The program is a work integrated training which includes on-the-job training (practical) for 5 days a week and 1 day of theory training. We shall ensure that each student is able to undergo an internship (with stipend) with some of the well known companies in the automobile & auto ancillary industry.
Curriculum:The curriculum in each of the years of the program would be a suitable mix of general education and skill development components.
Examination:Students will be assessed on project work and a written examination which will be conducted at the end of each semester.
Syllabus:Engineering Drawing, Automobile Engineering, Engineering Materials, Manufacturing Technology – Basics, Engineering Mechanics, Quality Management, Shop Floor Practices, Tool Engineering, Production Processes, Mechatronics, Basic Accounts, Computer Skills, English Communication, finishing school. There shall also be various electives in the final year.
